Mission

We built WC3Tracker out of passion for the Warcraft 3 custom game community and a desire to preserve visibility into a part of the game that has remained largely undocumented for years. Our data has been collected continuously since 2026, giving us one of the only long-term datasets on WC3 custom game activity.

Why WC3Tracker Exists

Despite the massive impact custom games have had on Warcraft 3 and gaming culture as a whole, there has never been any public access to meaningful statistics regarding map popularity, player activity, hosting trends, or long-term community behavior.

What We Track

The purpose of WC3Tracker is to provide transparent and accessible tracking for the custom game ecosystem by collecting live data directly from ongoing activity across Battle.net. Every lobby, every map, every session — captured and made readable.

Live Lobby Data

Real-time visibility into which Warcraft 3 custom maps are being hosted right now, how many players are in each lobby, and which servers they are running on.

Map Statistics & Trends

Historical session counts, unique host tracking, fill rates, and month-over-month trends for every custom map — grouped intelligently across versions.

Player Base Tracking

Long-term tracking of the number of unique BattleTag hosts active across time, giving a clear picture of how the Warcraft 3 custom game community has grown or shifted over the years.

Player Base Trends & Community Growth

For a multiplayer game that celebrated its twentieth anniversary, understanding who is still playing — and how that number changes over time — is some of the most valuable data that can exist about Warcraft 3 today.

WC3Tracker tracks the number of unique BattleTag identifiers hosting custom game lobbies across every time bucket. This is not a session count or a lobby count. It is a direct measure of how many distinct hosting accounts (BattleTags) were actively hosting on Battle.net during that period — not every player who joined a lobby.

Why This Data Matters

Most multiplayer games have access to official player counts and activity dashboards. Warcraft 3 custom games have never had this. There is no official API, no public dashboard, and no historical record. WC3Tracker fills that gap by providing the only known continuous dataset of custom game player activity for Warcraft 3.

When the data shows a spike in unique hosts, it reflects a real-world event — a content update, a popular streamer, a tournament, or seasonal interest returning to a classic map. When it shows a decline, that too is meaningful context for map developers and community organizers who want to understand where energy is going.

A Record Worth Keeping

Games this old rarely get new analytics infrastructure built around them. The Warcraft 3 custom game scene has survived for over two decades through the dedication of its players and map makers. WC3Tracker exists to make that survival visible — to give the community a mirror that reflects not just what is being played right now, but what has been played, how consistently, and by how many people.

This historical record only grows more valuable over time. Every day of data collected today becomes context that cannot be reconstructed later.

Who It Is For

Our project is independently developed and continuously improved with the goal of helping players, map developers, community organizers, and curious fans better understand the state of Warcraft 3 custom games today.

What the Bot Does

WC3Tracker Bot connects to the same live data pipeline that powers this website, delivering real-time Warcraft 3 custom game intelligence straight to your community. No browser required — members can check lobby status, look up map stats, or explore host rankings without ever leaving Discord.

Server administrators can configure automatic daily reports, set up live lobby announcements for their favorite maps, and get notified when the community breaks all-time peak records — all through a clean slash-command interface.

Live Lobby Intelligence
See which Warcraft 3 custom maps are active right now. Filter by region (EU, US, KR) or map name keyword. Data refreshes every poll cycle.
Daily Reports
Automatic posts at 09:00 UTC with ecosystem stats, top maps, host leaderboard, and community trends delivered to your chosen channel.
Live Lobby Alerts
Watch specific map names. The bot announces in real-time when matching lobbies open, updates as players join, and marks them started or closed.
In-Server Card Games
Play 5-Card Draw Poker, Blackjack, or Texas Hold'em with virtual cash. Stats and balances persist across sessions — view your full profile any time.

/lobbies Info
Browse all currently active custom game lobbies. Optional filters: region (EU / US / KR) and map name keyword.

Server Setup (Admin Only)

These commands require the Manage Server permission. They configure how the bot behaves in your specific server.

/setup configure Admin
Set the channel for automatic daily reports and optionally lock stats to a specific region. Posts at 09:00 UTC every day.
